Cops leave for Andhra

TEAM HERALD
MARGAO: A team of Maina-Curtorim police is leaving for Andhra Pradesh to investigate the possible role of dacoits in the recent dacoities and robberies in its jurisdiction.
The team will be led by PSI Girendra Naik attached to Margao police station whose services have been requisitioned by the Maina-Curtorim police to visit Andhra Pradesh in connection with the spate of thefts and robberies. The team is expected to leave on Monday and collect information on the possible involvement of the dacoits in the recent crimes in the State.
The decision to despatch a team to AP came after the recent daring robbery at Nuvem and the Davorlim dacoity that rocked the State last year.
Meanwhile, the Maina-Curtorim police on Saturday recorded the statement of Isabel, wife of Raj Gomes, in connection with the Nuvem robbery case. She however could not shed much light on the case.
