MAPUSA: The Anjuna police raided the premises of House of Chapora and seized incriminating material from the restaurant.
DySP Jivba Dalvi informed that the premises were raided after Suraj Prasad Todi, the alleged drug supplier who was arrested by the Anjuna police in Siolim on Thursday disclosed during custodial interrogation that drug related activities were being done at the premises of the restaurant located near Chapora jetty.
“Acting on the information, we obtained a search warrant and a team was formed consisting of Scientific Assistant, Dog Squad and staff of Anjuna Police and raided the restaurant premises
on Friday evening and found incriminating materials which was seized for forensic examination”, SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi said.
“The seized articles will be sent for chemical analysis to find out if it includes any narcotic substances and based on the scientific report action will be initiated against the owner and
manager of the said restaurant”, Jivba Dalvi informed.
The raiding team was headed by Jivba Dalvi SDPO Mapusa, Scientific Assistant Kulbhushan Gupta, Prashal Dessai PI Anjuna PSI Sahil Warang and staff of Anjuna Police Station.
Further investigation are in progress under Supervision of SP north Nidhin Valsan.
After the OHeraldo highlighted the issue of drug menace in Siolim, on Wednesday the Mapusa police had raided around ten places and had booked two under COTPA. During the further investigation, Anjuna police on Thursday nabbed two drug suppliers identified as Suraj Prasad Todi a native of Bangalore Karnataka and one Kalidas @ Kali Naik a resident of Anjuna.
