Cops recover seven more bikes from arrested gang

Ponda police on Sunday recovered seven more motorcycles from the gang arrested in connection with robberies along the highway.
With the recovery of seven more motorcycles, the number has risen to 17.
It may be recalled that Ponda police had arrested Derrick Rathos, Clinton Fernandes and Felton D’Costa at Farmagudi in the wee hours of Friday. Ronald, who had fled from the scene, was later arrested at Betalbatim.
All the four accused had threatened a truck driver at Dharbandora and had decamped with cash of Rs 1,500 and the mobile handset of the driver.
Ponda police informed that the accused also revealed about their involvement in motorcycle thefts and so far have succeeded in recovering 17 motorcycles from them. Police said more motorcycles are likely to be recovered.
Earlier, police recovered seven mobile handsets, cash of Rs 8,500 and also the car used in the offence.
