Cops search for man accused of killing wife

PANJIM: An Uttar Pradesh (UP) native working as a labourer in Panjim allegedly killed his wife in a rented premise at St Inez. 
Panjim PI Sidhant Shirodkar said the accused has been identified as Vishnu Umashankar Verma of Uttar Pradesh and his wife as Rukhsar Pathan from Karnataka.
Neighbours said that the accused was seen on Thursday morning moving out of the rented room with his 10 month son but they were unaware of the murder till afternoon. 
As per sources, the accused who was employed as a labourer was living with his wife and son in St Inez for the past three months, and is on the run. The couple had recently arrived in Goa from the hometown five days ago.
Police said that multiple injuries have been noticed on the body of deceased, including her neck and abdomen. Police have recovered the knife used in committing murder and a mobile phone which was in the room.
Shirodkar said that a case of murder has been registered and the accused has been charged under Section 302 of the IPC. All the State borders and exit points have been alerted to trace the accused, he added.
