PANJIM: The Goa Police on Wednesday informed the High Court of Bombay at Goa that they are withdrawing the summons issued to the National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the property defacement case.
Pernem police had issued suo motu summons to Arvind Kejriwal under Section 41 (A) of the Code of Criminal Procedure asking him to appear before them on April 27 in a case relating to sticking of posters on public properties during the Goa assembly election campaign in 2022. Kejriwal later challenged the summons issued to him by Pernem Police before the High Court.
The case came up before the division bench comprising of Justices Mahesh Sonak and Valmiki Menezes on Wednesday, during which the Pernem police submitted to the Court that would withdraw the summons issued to Kejriwal.
The petition was disposed by the HC after the submission of the police.
