Cops yet to nab man who attacked govt official in S Goa Collectorate

Lookout notices dispatched to police stations across the region and airports; several individuals questioned

MARGAO: Despite Fatorda police issuing a lookout notice, the whereabouts of the assailant, who assaulted an official of the Land Records Department, remain unknown. The lookout notices have been dispatched to police stations across the region, as well as airports.

Fatorda police sources confirmed that no arrests have been made thus far. However, they have recorded the registration number of the scooter used by the suspect at the South Goa Collectorate. Additionally, several individuals have been questioned in connection with the case.

The assault took place in the department’s office within the South Goa Collectorate premises.

According to Fatorda Police, based on the complaint, an offence under Sections 353, 325, 504, and 506 (ii) of the IPC, pertaining to assaulting a government servant while on duty, along with charges of abuse, threat, and assault, has been registered against the unknown perpetrator. Police have gathered details of the incident and a description of the alleged assailant.
