PANJIM: The Mapusa police arrested a Corlim resident for stealing a gold bangle from a jewellery shop.
According to the police, the accused Nilesh Vinayak Naik, a resident of Carambolim and presently residing at Corlim was arrested for allegedly stealing a gold ‘Kada’ from Nagvekar Jewellers on Tuesday evening.
The shop owner Gauresh Nagvekar filed a complaint at the Mapusa police station stating that an unknown couple entered his shop as customers and by diverting his attention, stole a gold ‘Kada’ weighing 25 grams from the display counter of the shop.
The Mapusa police have registered an FIR under sections 380 of IPC. Further investigations are in progress, police added.
