Corporator quits as chief of CCP panel

Uday Madkaikar, a corporator from ruling panel of Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) on Monday resigned from the post of chairman of standing committee.
CCP Mayor Caroline Po said that Madkaikar has resigned from the committee without specifying any reasons.
The standing committee looks after the financial expenses of the Corporation.
Po said that six member committee will be meeting on Friday to discuss on the resignation and elect new head.
“Right now I have taken over as the chairman of the committee,” Po said.
Madkaikar was not available for his comments.
Sources stated that education minister Babush Monserratte has asked Madkaikar to step down from the post.
The standing committee attains important role in the financial management of the corporation. The CCP is in the bad news for ill managed finances, which were reflected in its annual budget.
