SANGUEM: Electricity Department, Sanguem on Wednesday replaced a damaged pole at Novo Waddo in Uguem which had been posing danger to the lives of the locals.
Herald on December 23, 2018 had highlighted the issue and the locals had submitted a representation to the Electricity Department, highlighting the imminent danger that lies to the lives of the people residing in the locality due to the damaged electricity pole.
It may be recalled that the electricity pole barely few metres away from the residential houses had corroded from within and was damaged considerably. After having noticed the extreme damage, the villagers wrote to the Electricity Department for immediate replacement of the damaged pole.
Fears were also expressed by the residents of the injuries that could be caused to the kids who play nearby the damaged pole throughout the day.
The residents have expressed gratitude to the Electricity Department Officials at Sanguem and the support staff from Uguem Sub Centre for the swift action.
Meanwhile, a request has been made by the residents to replace another pole in the same locality which is showing a bend.
