VASCO: Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha has accused the Sancoale Panchayat members of “creating issues where there are none.”

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Saldanha said said that water is essential for life and as such, the work of laying water pipeline cannot be stopped. However, she said, “the authorities concerned  have assured that the work of laying pipeline would be completed in all respects and the damaged gutters, if any, would be repaired or re-instated before the monsoons.”

Saldanha said that as soon as the work of laying the pipeline began, she stopped the work and immediately called for a meeting of all the authorities concerned, where it was decided that the work has to be completed.

Emphasising that she does care for the people, Saldanha said, “If anyone (feels) hurt to see the newly done up roads being dug, (they should remember that) it is the MLA of the constituency who worked hard to see that the roads in the village of Sancoale are hot-mixed.”
