Councillors told to cut down queries

In an interesting development, some of the Margao Municipal Councillors have claimed that they have been requested by the powers that be not to raise many queries at tomorrow’s power point presentation to avoid embarrassment to the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat.
City Fathers in the know said an outspoken ruling Councillor was told not to raise too many queries on the project and the draft concession agreement to be signed with Fomento since the Chief Minister will be attending the power point presentation along with other members of the high powered Committee.
Councillors in private demanded to know why the power point presentation is being held by the Chief Officer in the presence of the Chief Minister, adding that requests made to the Councillors not to raise too  many queries is an attempt to silence the voice of the City Fathers.
“This agreement would guide the civic body’s relationship with Fomento for the next 25 years. Certainly, we would like to get all our queries answered before the deal is signed with the company”, remarked a councillor.
