PANJIM: The Porvorim police on Tuesday registered a murder case against three persons and their family members into the death of Nicolao Pinto of Malim, Penha de Franca as directed by the North Goa Additional Court, Panjim.
The police registered murder case against Liao Gabriel Vas, Flasten Martins, Esabel Rego and their family members, all from Malim. The police had registered Pinto’s death as unnatural death after he was found dead in the verandah of his house on January 1, 2022.
The North Goa Additional Court, Panjim, had dismissed a criminal revision application filed by the Porvorim police, who had prayed to set aside order of the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Mapusa, directing the police to register murder case into the death of one Nicolao Pinto of Malim, in January last year.
The police had filed criminal revision application against the order of the JMFC, Mapusa, who on May 2, 2023, directed the Porvorim police to register Pinto’s death as a murder case. The police had earlier registered Pinto’s death as unnatural death after he was found dead in the verandah of his house on the night of January 1, 2022.
