MARGAO: The Additional Sessions Judge (FTC-I), Margao on Saturday rejected bail application of Riyaz Abdul Shaikh, resident of Sirvodem, Navelim, arrested by Anti-Narcotic Cell Panjim with ganja worth Rs 4 lakh approximately.
According to the prosecution, in the intervening night of February 23 and 24 at Reliance mobile phone signal tower next to South Goa District Hospital, Margao, the Anti-Narcotic Cell Panjim led by Police Sub-Inspector Manjunath Naik found the accused in possession of four kg of suspected ganja approximately worth Rs 4 lakh. The accused was booked under Section 20 (b) (ii) (b) of NDPS Act, 1985.
The case stated that during a personal search of the accused, in the bag carried by the accused the raiding party found green colour leafy substance, which when tested found to be Psychiatric substance “ganja”.
