MARGAO: The Session Court, Margao on Monday rejected bail applications of five out of 12 accused in the Afghan national kidnapping case. Alex D’Souza, Anuraj Kumar, Vishal Goswami, Sanju Singh, and Robin D’Souza had applied for bail.
All the 12 accused including nine from Haryana, two from Goa and one from UP were arrested for duping an Afghan national, Shapur Zarifi, who had been kept in captivity at a bungalow, while his family members believed that he had migrated to Canada.
Porvorim police had registered a case of kidnapping of a Punjab native who was also found captive along with Zarifi at a private bungalow in Porvorim.
