COVID-19 cases rise by 46

Two recover; No new cases at Mangor

PANJIM: On Friday, Goa reported 46 new COVID-19 cases, of which 39 were linked to the containment zone Mangor Hill in Vasco. With two recoveries, the State’s active case tally stands at 394. 

The spread of corona virus continued in the interior areas with Morlem in Sattari reporting four fresh cases (total 15), Baina in Vasco had six cases (total 15) and Chimbel had three new cases (total 8). All are linked to Mangor Hill.

As per data released by Directorate of Health Services (DHS), of 3,501 samples tested, 46 were positive while 2,072 results were negative. Reports of 1383 samples are awaited. This included 39 linked to Mangor Hill, while six were of travellers. 

Two COVID patients have also recovered, taking State’s active case tally to 394. 

Of the active cases, 217 are from Mangor Hill. No new cases from the containment zone were reported on Friday. Also, New Vaddem, which had 11 cases till Thursday, has no new case.

There are 117 cases linked to the containment zone, of which 39 were reported on Friday. 

On Friday, 21 international passengers and 23 domestic travelers were placed under home quarantine, while 28 were sent to facility quarantine. There are 15 patients in isolation.
