COVID-19 spreads in South Goa

Curtorim, Ambelim linked show rise; Cases reported in Loutolim, Canacona

PANJIM: COVID-19 cases continue to spread in different parts of the State with new cases reported in Canacona and Loutolim. Forty-four new cases was reported on Thursday, taking the tally of active cases to 658 while a total of 335 patients have recovered till date. 

The health bulletin released on Thursday, showed 11 cases in Loutolim and two cases in Canacona, whereas Curtorim and Ambelim (linked cases) are turning out to be new hot spots with 31 and 24 cases respectively. 

The State has so far reported 995 confirmed cases of which 658 are active while 335 have recovered and two persons have died. On Thursday while 44 positive cases were recorded, 46 patients recovered. 

The Bulletin further states that of 2,772 samples tested on Thursday, 1,628 are negative, 44 are positive and reports of 1,100 patients are awaited. 

Currently, 1,092 persons are in quarantine across various Residencies of Goa.
