PANJIM: The daily Covid positivity rate bounced back to above 7% on Friday, going up to 7.33%.
222 new cases were detected on Friday with 3206 samples being tested. DHS reported 5 deaths on Friday, with three taking place at Goa Medical College (GMC) and two at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH).
277 persons were also reported to have recovered by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and the recovery rate is now at 96.56%.
200 persons were placed under home isolation while 22 patients were hospitalised. 40 persons were discharged from private hospitals.
The youngest to succumb to the infection was a 34-year-old male from Pernem. All of the remaining four deceased persons were above the age of 56 years.
