PONDA: Kavlem Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar on Monday urged the residents not to panic following media reports of 18 students of a social organisation testing positive for COVID-19 at Dhavali.
Kavlem residents got panicky following reports of the students testing positive and the building of a social organisation where these students were staying has been declared a micro-containment zone. A school has also been shut in Dhavali. Kavlekar called upon the residents to compulsorily wear masks, follow social distancing and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
He said 45 residents of the social organisation got themselves tested including students and staff. Earlier, 18 students tested positive however, on Monday the reports of the remaining persons came negative. He said the 18 students, who tested positive, are asymptomatic.
He said on Monday the entire building of the social organisation was sanitised. The school which has been shut has not reported any COVID positive cases.
