BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday took the first jab of COVID vaccine and assured the people that it is 100 per cent safe.

The Chief Minister was administered the vaccine by nurse Vimal Sinari, at a hospital in Sanquelim at 10 am.

“The COVID vaccine is 100 per cent safe and can be given to every citizen free of cost in government hospitals and at Rs 250 in private hospitals.

The government is backing the people and the fear of COVID is being eradicated due to the vaccine,” Sawant said.

“COVID is now under complete control in the State due to the good work by the team of doctors, health workers and officers. Even if we get vaccinated, we need to maintain social distance and other security measures. If everyone recognises their responsibilities, everything will be fine,” said Dr Sawant.
