SANGUEM: Sanguem Municipal officials led by Chairperson Romualdo Fernandes and GSUDA officials conducted a site inspection of the crematorium at Gunjimoll in Sanguem, on Friday.
The inspection was conducted following a memorandum submitted to the municipality by the Sanguem Block Youth Congress, a month ago.
During the site inspection, the GSUDA officials were informed of the project work and the infrastructural facilities that are required at the crematorium.
The GSUDA officials undertook to prepare the layout for the renovation work of the crematorium, keeping in mind the infrastructural facilities sought by the Council.
Chairperson Fernandes was accompanied by councillors Sandesh Kossambe, Prakash Gaonkar, Rosemaria Fernandes and Municipal Engineer Suhas Phaldessai.
Meanwhile, Sanguem Block Youth Congress President Messiah D’Costa has complimented the SMC for the immediate initiative taken to renovate the Hindu Crematorium.
