PORVORIM: The state-of-the-art crematorium at Porvorim was partially opened in presence of local MLA Rohan Khaunte, who said that the facility would be managed by Serula Vaikuntdham Committee.
Khaunte said that the facility has been partially inaugurated as its work was stalled due to COVID-19 pandemic situation.
“The facility will spare the people from Porvorim to travel to Panjim to conduct the final rites,” he added.
“When we speak of all inclusive development for the constituency, the facilities should be provided to all communities perform final rites,” Khaute said.
He informed that the work on crematorium had started pre-COVID times, but due to some “political reasons” the work was stalled. Khaunte said that the management of this facility would be done by Serula Vaikuntdham Committee.
