PONDA: Police have recovered on Sunday the cricket bat used in the murder of Rajendra Naik from Shiroda, at the instance of prime accused Nilay Naik.
Nilay and his panch uncle Suhas Naik are in police custody for the murder of Rajendra Naik.
According to Ponda PI Mohan Gaude, there was previous enmity between the victim and the accused over property dispute.
There was scuffle between the panch and the victim on December 12 following which the victim was found attacked on the same day midnight at Shiroda few meters away from his house and succumbed to injuries the next day at Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim after which police converted attempt to murder case into murder case against accused Suhas Naik and Nilay Naik.
