Crime Branch book five conmen for cheating tourists at Calangute

PANJIM: The Crime Branch police booked five persons for allegedly cheating a tourist and his friends of Rs 18,300 on the pretext of providing package including free food, drinks and dance with girls in a club at Calangute. 

Gurkirat Sarbjit Singh, a native of Gurudwara Bidar Karnataka, K S in his complaint has stated that the incident occurred on Sunday night when the five accused persons approached him and his friends, took them to a club at Calangute on pretext of providing package including free food, drinks, dance and call girls.

Falling for the enticing offer, the complainant and his friends visited the club, paid the money only to realise that there was nothing on the offer but on the contrary they were cheated of Rs 18,300.

The accused have been identified as Arun, Tukaram, Vinod, Premsingh and Mohan Evena as their full details were not made available. 

The Crime Branch police have registered a case against the five accused and booked them under section 420 read with 34 of IPC and Section 8 (b) ITP Act, 1956. PI V Deykar is conducting further investigations.
