CANACONA: Palolem Entertainment Committee organized a crowd funded carnival float at Palolem. Gaspar Coutinho said that this is the third consecutive year they are organizing carnival floats, all of the expenses are borne out of crowd funding.
A total of 8 group floats and 20 individuals participated, the first three prizes went to Pelton Bar and Restaurant, San Francisco Guesthouse and Cocktail and Dreams respectively. The float parade started from Ovrem and wend its way to Palolem beach entrance and thereafter to the stage in front of Palolem Youth Club.
Organisers said thousands of locals and foreigners cheered the floats and danced to the beat of the music. Ex-chairperson of Canacona municipality Simon Rebello was King Momo while Riva Rebello was queen at the float parade.
