CALANGUTE: The Social Action team of Calangute Parish along with the Council for Responsible Tourism (CRT) had a meeting to discuss different issues plaguing the people in the coastal belt as well as the rampant destruction of the Baga hill. Over 50 people were present for the meeting held at the parish hall at Calangute on Monday to chalk out the future course of plan. The gathering opined to take legal action against the people who have destroyed the Baga hill and other offenders. It was decided that ward wise meeting will be conducted by the Council for Responsible Tourism in Candolim and Calangute.
The In-charge of Centre for Responsible Tourism, Fr. Freddy Braganza pointed out that they are against destruction and shall protect the Baga hill at all cost.
A public meeting will be held to create an awareness regarding the destruction of the Baga hill at the site on February 13 at 3.30 pm.
The Parish Priest of St. Alex Church Calangute, Fr. Polly Lobo and the attorney of Calangute Comunidae, Anthony Dsouza was also present for the meeting.
