Cumbarjua MGP unit demands bridge for Divar

PANJIM: Cumbarjua MGP Block Committee president Narayan Velekar has urged PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar to look into the grievances of Divar residents on construction of bridge connecting the island to the main land.
At a recent meeting, the members unanimously resolved to pursue the construction of bridge as the islanders, specially, the school children and elderly, are going through severe hardships due to irregular ferry services especially during the peak hours.
The frequent breakdown of ferry services has been causing inconvenience during emergencies as there is no 24-hour health centre facility.
The other issues raised include improving the Kadamba transport services to the island and helping educated youth to gain employment in government departments through the ministers.
The committee expressed its gratitude to PWD minster for hot mixing the main roads in the island.
A MGP meeting under the leadership of President Deepak Dhavalikar has been planned later this month along with members and party workers.
Party observer Santosh Phadte, Manohar Morascar, Namdev Volvoikar, Shailesh Naik and other party workers were present.
