MARGAO: In yet another case of property grabbing through forged documents reported in Salcete, a resident of Savorcatta, Cuncolim has been accused of preparing a forged special power of attorney and producing it before the sub registrar to execute a sale of deed.
The police sub inspector Dindayal Redker of Fatorda police is investigating the case and has registered an offence against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC, including 465, 468, 471, and 420.
The complaint was lodged by Mary Wilma Coutinho of CCL Residency Cooperative Society, River Sal Estate, Pulwaddo, Benaulim, who alleged that the accused, Julian Vaz, cheated her by preparing a forged special power of attorney of the complainant and using it to execute the deed of sale for a property in Dramapur village.
The police have registered the offence and will check the forged documents after visiting the office of the sub registrar. The investigation is in progress and no arrest has been made yet.
