Cuncolim Maulana assaulted

The Maulana of Pairyabandh Mosque at Cuncolim, Abdul Wahad (28) sustained minor injuries after he was allegedly assaulted on Sunday evening.
The Cuncolim police are on the look out for one Swapnesh Desai, a resident of Culvaddo in connection with the assault.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening while the Maulana was watching a cricket match played by local children of Pairyabandh.
Cuncolim PI Sidhant Shirodkar informed that the accused came to the venue and assaulted the Maulana with a stick and fled.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was referred for medical examination at Hospicio hospital.
PI Shriodkar, who visited Hospicio late Sunday evening, informed that Maulana has sustained only minor injuries.
The Cuncolim police went to the house of the accused late this evening, but he was not found there.
