CUNCOLIM: BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade on Wednesday gave clear indications that MLA Clafacio Dias will get ticket in Cuncolim Constituency despite there being four aspirants, as he is fit and eligible.

While replying to a question from the reporters during his visit to Cuncolim Constituency, Tanavade said, “The principles and culture of the BJP are accepted by him in all means for ticket. The party has set the criteria by looking at the temperament, work and ability to win and Clafacio has all these in him. It’s up to the individuals to draw the conclusion.”

BJP Mandal Chief Maruti Desai and other local leaders had a brief chat with the State president and backed Clafacio, saying he is the right candidate. Clafacio disclosed that he will not contest the elections without the candidature of BJP.

Guiding the workers as part of his constituency tour, Tanavade said, “We are confident that with the hard work of BJP workers, the development work done by the government and the blessings of voters, we will form a government on our own in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Clafacio told his workers not to fall prey to the rumours spread by the Opposition. “Congress has always created fear of BJP party among minorities saying BJP is a communal party. I have experienced the greatness of BJP and as a member of minority community I can assure that the BJP is only the best alternative we have.”
