MARGAO: Taking strong note of the delay in sealing the industrial plots storing hazardous waste in the Cuncolim Industrial Estate, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured that the authorities will move in the industrial estate on Monday to seal the premises.
When newsmen drew Parrikar’s attention to the 18-day delay on the part of the South Goa District Collector, N D Agrawal to seal the two plots storing hazardous waste in the Cuncolim Industrial Estate, the Chief Minister attributed the delay to the suspension of Deputy Collector, Dasharath Redkar.
“Redkar was instructed to seal the industrial plots on Friday, but his suspension has delayed in sealing the two plots”, the Chief Minister said.
When his attention was drawn to the petition filed by the plot owner The Axis before the Administrative Tribunal, which is scheduled to come up for hearing on Monday, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar reassured that the government will give an appropriate response before the tribunal.
