CUNCOLIM: The Cuncolim Municipal Council has decided to close down Sunday market for next two Sundays on March 22 and 29 as a precautionary measure with regard to outbreak of Covid-19.

The council in a special meeting held on Wednesday unanimously resolved to keep Sunday market close for next to Sundays.
Vice Chairperson Videsh Dessai informed the press that the council will check the situation after March 31 and will decide if there is a need to extend the ban on the Sunday market.
It may be recalled that the vendors from Belgaum are coming to Cuncolim Sunday market to sell vegetables and fruits.
Large number of consumers from Cuncolim and surrounding places visit this market and it always remain crowded. The council had already informed the vendors not to come for Sunday market.
Meanwhile, the CMC has lunched awareness campaign on Coronavirus and has taken all the precautionary measures to tackle the outbreak.
The council also adopted the Budget proposals for next financial year.
