PANJIM: The State Government has issued order restricting timing for bursting of firecrackers during Diwali festival based on Supreme Court directions.
A notification issued by Department of Environment said, “On the day of the Diwali on October 27, fire crackers are allowed to be burst in the morning from 4.30 am to 5.30 am and in the evening from 7pm to 8pm strictly”.
For other days during the Diwali festival period i.e. October 28 and 29, which is being observed in the State of Goa, the firecrackers bursting time shall be strictly restricted between 8 pm and 10 pm only.
The police station in-charge of the respective police station shall be fully responsible for implementation of the Supreme Court directions, the notification said.
