CURCHOREM: A 48-year-old resident of Zoriwada-Bethmoddi, Curchorem has been arrested in connection with an attempt to murder case on Monday.
According to police, a 72-year-old Ambaulim-Quepem woman in her complaint stated that her son-in-law Francisco Costa (48), a resident of Zoriwada-Bethmoddi in Curchorem, assaulted his 40-year-old wife over some family dispute.
According to investigating officer PSI Veronica Coutinho, the accused with intention to kill his wife, assaulted her with a bamboo stick, causing her grievous head injuries. On receiving information, the police reached the spot and shifted the victim to the upgraded primary health centre at Curchorem from where she was admitted in Hospicio Hospital, Margao. She was later moved to Goa Medical College, Bambolim where she is undergoing treatment”.
The accused Francisco has been arrested under Section 307 of IPC for attempt to murder.
Meanwhile, one Shivanand Jhadav, a resident of Vasta-Wada, Curchorem filed a missing complaint of his 18-year-old daughter on Monday.
