CURCHOREM: In a gruesome act, a woman from Babquegal, Curchorem allegedly murdered her 38-year-old husband Basauraj Bassu Barki at Bebquegal.
Acting on the information, the Curchorem police on Tuesday evening arrested four persons including the woman for the alleged murder of Basauraj.
According to Investigating Officer PI Ravindra Dessai, the deceased’s wife 31-year-old Kalpana Bassu Barki allegedly killed her husband by strangulating him with a nylon rope in an apartment in the main market at Babquegal, Curchorem. With an intention to destroy the evidence, the woman in an inhumane manner, cut the body into pieces and stuffed them in empty rice bags and transported them in a jeep and later dumped the same in the jungle at Dudhsagar.
The victim’s wife and 3 other accused Suresh Kumar, a resident of Bebquegal; Abdul Karim Shaikh, a resident of Cacora and Pankaj Pawar, a resident of Margao have been arrested under Sections 302, 201 r/w 34 IPC.
