CURCHOREM: A 16-year-old science student from Curchorem is feared drowned after jumping into the Zuari River, at Curchorem, on Tuesday.
Some locals, who saw the boy jumping into the river, raised an alarm and gathered in the temple premises to watch the CCTV footage, which showed the boy jumping into the river.
The locals contacted the police, who in turn, informed the Curchorem Fire Brigade personnel.
“The firemen conducted the search operation till late evening. However, were unable to trace the boy,” PSI Vaibhav Naik informed.
According to fire brigade personnel, a team under the leadership of Station Fire Officer Rahul Dessai conducted the search operation till late evening with the help of the search camera.
The operation will continue on Wednesday.
