CURCHOREM: Curchorem Traffic Cell on Tuesday challaned 65 two-wheeler riders under Section 129 of M V Act for not wearing helmets and collected Rs 6,500 by way of fines.
According to Curchorem Traffic Police, they booked 135 cases under M V Act 1988 and collected in total fines amounting to Rs 15,750 for various offences such as talking on mobile while driving, motorists without licence, rash and negligent driving. Other offences were registered against bus drivers for not wearing uniform, trucks without tarpaulin, vehicles parked in no parking zone, vehicles without side mirrors and tainted glasses, improper number plate, driving without seat belts etc.
