MAPUSA: Vaibhave Amonkar from Mapusa, a graduate from Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) trade at Mapusa Government ITI who appeared at the 54th All India Skill Competition organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at New Delhi stood first in the country.
He has been declared the best craftsman of India in COPA trade and has secured 85.76% which is also found to be the highest percentage among the toppers of all the trades in India.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has presented him with a merit certificate and a prize of Rs 50,000.
Due to his achievement at the national level, Mapusa Government ITI has been declared as the best institute of India for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant trade and awarded with a merit certificate.
Vaibhave Amonkar was recently felicitated and presented the merit certificate by Secretary Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Chokha Ram Garg in the presence of Director, Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dipak Desai and the Principal of Mapusa Govt. ITI, Sheetal Desai and group instructor Computer Operator and Programming Assistant. Leena Porob presented merit certificates. The felicitation function was organised by the department at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda in association with Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj, Ponda unit and AGKMS YUVA.
After pursuing his course at Mapusa Government ITI, Vaibhave Amonkar is presently pursuing his higher studies at Government Polytechnic, Panjim.
Leena Porob was his group instructor COPA at Mapusa ITI.
