Curlies Beach Shack demolition which started on Friday, stopped by Supreme Court

Curlies Beach Shack demolition which started on Friday early
morning was stopped by Supreme Court Friday morning itself. Curlies questioned
the hurry in the demolition. The Apex Court has forbidden any commercial
activity. The demolition which was carried out on the orders of the North Goa
Collector was underway and was ordered after the verdict of the National
Green Tribunal said the structure was illegal.  Activists had approached the NGT over the illegalities
carried out by Curlies.

A large posse of policemen, the Deputy Collector, the Additional Collector North, Mamlatdar and IGP were present.  Hardly had a small portion of Curlies been
demolished that the Supreme Court issued an order to stop the demolition after
the owners approached the top court to stop the demolition ordered by the NGT.
