PONDA: Curti locals woke up to a surprise to see a mobile tower erected overnight in the Government Sports Complex premises, Khandepar Panchayat, Curti on Monday.
Fearing of harmful radiation the locals as well as panch members expressed strong resentment and demanded removal of mobile tower immediately. It was also noted that no panchayat NoC was issued for erection of the tower.
Meanwhile, the workers engaged in construction of tower said they had permission from government
“We understand the importance of mobile but that does not mean that a tower can be erected at such a dense locality,” the locals said
Locals said that the area is densely-populated with several apartments and houses closely attached to the Government Sports Complex besides children visit the complex for various sports events on many occasions.
