KARWAR: Tension prevailed at Majali in Karwar after a car driver from Haveli-Curti, Ponda, reportedly pulled out a revolver to frighten a crowd gathered at the scene of a road mishap on Wednesday.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a man was proceeding on his motorcycle towards Majali area at Gaongeri Cross, popularly known as ‘Ramnath Modn’, while the Goan driver along with a family were heading towards Sayed Shahabuddin`s Darga at Sadashivgad.
“Both vehicles brushed against each other and both parties started arguing with each other on the issue. On seeing a crowd gathered at the site, the driver got frightened and pulled out his revolver to frighten the public,” DySP Sannatimmayya told media persons.
Later, the matter was settled amicably at Chittakula Police station and according to police, the driver, an ex-serviceman who resides with the family traveling in the car, had the necessary license to carry a revolver with him.
