PONDA: Based on a complaint by one woman residing at Curti, Ponda Police have registered an offence against her husband and five of his family members, including her mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law for allegedly assaulting, threatening and torturing the woman.
It is learnt that the woman was abused and assaulted with bamboo sticks causing her injuries.
The accused persons, police said, also allegedly demanded dowry, causing mental torture and also harassed her.
