MARGAO: Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on Monday demanded to scrap the Bhumiputra Adhikarni Bill 2021 immediately alleging that the ruling BJP strategically acted to finish Goan and replace them by population other than Goan.
He also appealed to all the people of Goa to unitedly start a movement against the Bill to protect Goa.
“Bhumiputra Adhikarni Act is not a surprise to me. It is an expected reality in the design BJP government is finishing Goa and Goans and turning them into non-entities in their own land. To me, Bhumiputra Act is a nail in the coffin to bury Goans,” he said
MLA said that time has come to keep aside all the differences and be united to protect and to give good leadership to Goa.
“This bill is framed to make non-Goans sons of the soil. The BJP government is responsible for Goans to run away from Goa. By agitations on the ground of corruption, the BJP was successful to install the projects but the pertinent point is that it never did anything to start IT parks in Goa. Goa was supposed to be one of the most literate states after Kerala in the County. The literacy level was very high, the result was that Goans could not get any employment and opportunity to work in the IT field”, he said.
Congress MLA said Goa had all the potential for an educational hub where students from other States also could come and avail the infrastructure, which this State would have and provide not only education and employment to ancillaries like housing, besides balance between education and tourism as an industry.
“What has BJP done in this regard? Are they repenting? No. They still continue fooling us. Today number of families migrated to foreign countries and other states. For the last 20 years, the BJP government has not been instrumental in setting up any other industry producing goods,” he alleged.
