Customs vehicle sent back from border

PERNEM:  The State government officials deputed at Patradevi border check post sent back a vehicle reportedly belonging to Customs from Maharashtra for not having the required travel permissions.

According to the sources, on Tuesday evening at around 6.25 pm, a Maharashtra registered vehicle MH-07-AG-3377 arrived at the Patradev check post and on the windscreen of the vehicle, there was a sign “Indian Customs”. 

As per the procedure, the vehicle was then stopped and checked for travel and other permission in view of enforced lockdown.

Immediately, DySP Gajanan Prabhudessai, Pernem PI Sandesh Chodankar, Deputy Collector Chandrakant Shetkar and Mamlatdar Anant Malik rushed to the site and after thorough inquiry and discussion, the authorities decided to send the vehicle back to Maharashtra.
