PORVORIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday said that Cyber age laptops will be distributed to students after the Diwali vacations.
“The first batch of students who have cleared their Class Xll and are now studying in First Year will be given the laptops soon after Diwali vacations and then the remaining two batches will be given,” Parrikar said, while speaking at an interaction programme with elected UCRs and UFRs of Goa University (GU). He added that WIFI data for students can be considered but questioned on its misuse.
“WIFI data facility for students can be considered for all colleges even for HSS and schools but the problem is that the facility which is provided can also be misused. So how do you control that?” Parrikar said, responding to a question raised by a student in providing WIFI at colleges.
“When the cyber age scheme was launched there was a report in a daily newspaper claiming that students of some schools were watching pornography,” he added.
