VASCO: In a tragic accident, a cyclist was crushed to death under the wheels of a Cement Mixer truck at Dabolim Junction on Saturday evening.
The victim had been identified as Khark Prasad Jaishi (43), a native of Maharashtra and currently residing at Dabolim.
According to the police, the accident occurred when Jaishi and the concrete mixer truck drover had stopped at the Dabolim junction signal.
After the signal turned green, the cyclist who had halted on the left side of the truck moved forward and perhaps the truck driver, who was also proceeding in the same direction might have not noticed him and ran over the vehicle over him.
On getting the information, the Vasco police rushed to the spot and conducted a panchnama and sent the body to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao for autopsy.
