DA for govt employees hiked by 2 per cent

PANJIM: The Goa government on Monday announced a 2 per cent hike in the dearness allowance (DA) to its employees and employees of GIA educational institutions. 
The increased dearness allowance to employees will come into effect from January 1, 2018. “It has been decided by the State government to extend to its employees and employees of GIA educational institutions, who are drawing pay and allowances… the benefit of payment of dearness allowance at revised rates as sanctioned to Central government employees. The same may be paid to the employees along with salaries for the month of April 2018 with arrears from the month of January 2018 to March 2018,” the office memorandum by Under Secretary (Finance-Exp) Sushama Kamat, on Monday, states. 
The Central government had last month enhanced dearness allowance for its employees from 5 per cent to 7 per cent of the basic pay with effect from January 1, 2018.
