PANJIM: The Goa government has enhanced the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and staff of aided academic institutions from 7 to 9 per cent with effect from July 1, 2018.
An order issued by Under Secretary (Finance Expenditure) Susham Kamat stated, “The central government has enhanced the DA for its employees from 7 to 9 per cent with effect from July and orders have been issued in this regard. Subsequently, the government in Goa has enhanced the DA for its employees with effect from July 1.”
Government employees will get the enhanced DA along with their October salary. The DA of retired employees has also been increased by 2 per cent. Around 55,000 present and retired government employees will benefit from this hike in DA. The exchequer will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 8.5 crore a month under this head.
