Dabolim ground to be developed under ZP funds: Godinho

Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the development of Dabolim ground with ZP funds.

Others present at the event included Sancoale ZP Anita Thorat, Chicalim Dy Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav, Dabolim BJP Mandal President Sandeep Sood, and others.

Speaking to reporters, Godinho said the ground was being developed under ZP funds and Rs 30 lakh would be spent in the first phase.

“We will have a proper ground in shape as well as a walking track around the periphery. This most used ground is actually a private property but the land owner Equin Rebeiro gave it for the development of ground for the benefit of the people and I am grateful to him,” said Godinho.

Godinho also said the entire Nullah at Vaddem had been de-silted as part of the pre-monsoon works.

“We have taken a review meeting of pre-monsoon works and even de-silted the entire Nullah which is critical in Vaddem. Pruning of branches is always an ongoing activity and is carried out before and after the monsoon.”

Sancoale ZP Anita Thorat said work on the development of Dabolim ground would be launched in phases.

“We will utilize all funds available for this project,” said Thorat.
