According to railway police, they received information at around 2 pm that a body was lying near the railway track.
A Police team was rushed to the site and identified the body as that of one Sarvesh (full name not known) aged around 23 years and a resident of Dabolim.
Police investigation revealed that Sarvesh was mentally disturbed and it is suspected that he might have committed suicide by jumping on the track and was then run over by the train.
The Vasco railway police have sent the body for post mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police and the case is under investigation by PSI Chandrakant Talavankar.
