MAPUSA: The Mapusa police have arrested Yasin Abdul Mulla, aged 20, for performing bike stunts on a public road and endangering the lives of public. His father Abdul Dadapir Mulla was also placed under arrest for letting his son ride his bike without holding a driving licence.
The police acted with an iron hand after a video of a youth performing bike stunts on a public road near the Mapusa Court building went viral on social media.
Taking cognisance of the video clip, the Mapusa identified the rider as a resident of Dangui Colony, Mapusa and seized the scooter bearing registration no GA-03-AQ-7945.
During interrogation, the rider of the two-wheeler revealed that his father had given him the scooter even after knowing that he didn’t have a driving license. The cops then arrested his father too.
Yasin has now been booked under the Motor Vehicle Act under sections 279, 336 of IPC and Sec 3, 129, 177, 180, 184, 192 of the MV Act.
